Design
A solenoid valve is electrically controlled, 2 way 2 position, normally closed (NC). This means that when no power is applied, the valve is in the closed position not allowing water to flow through. When the valve is supplied the proper voltage, it opens to allow water to flow through. These valves are 2/2-way, meaning they have 1 inlet and 1 outlet.
